Got this in the mail today, compare to the old one:
I accidentally melted it a little bit. It’s the armerature for a starter motor. Can’t fit a full size starter on this engine for complicated reasons, so I had to track down the parts supplier for Tilton’s high torque starters...
Came home from the dragstrip a month ago on a flatbed... Finally going to be back in action soon!

Not much, it has always had a weak spot when cranking, and I basicallly got stranded when I shut the car off for gas on the way home. It wouldn’t turn at all, and we kept trying. Even tried to jump ir from another car.
I think the damage was done before I got stranded, but we changed it fron worn out brushes to a melted chunk...
